Akio Toyoda, Toyota’s President & CEO, giving the GR Yaris the green light is arguably one of the best decisions he has made. We’ve seen articles that describe Toyota’s World Rally Championship team gaining Akio’s personal stamp of approval before this hot homologation hatch was approved and became the phenomenon it is today. 

If you’ve been lucky enough to drive or live vicariously through various Youtubers’ experience of these cars, you’ll want to bow to Akio Toyoda and say “arigatou”. Why? Because they have created something properly cool. This particular example takes the originally delivered car and adds just a little extra spice. 

Imagine going into Nando’s, ordering a quarter chicken, Extra Hot. Then, when your food arrives, you carefully add some Peri-Peri Vusa sauce for that extra fire. That is what has happened here. 

Okay, enough of the weird Nando’s comparisons and back to this car. 

Delivered in Scarlet Flare, one of only four colours, the owner of this GR must have known how brilliant it would look. 

After waiting patiently for the vehicle to arrive brand new the first few days of this cars life included modification and then of course Ceramic Coating by JR Automotive.
